We’ve removed the level crossing at Hopkins Road in Truganina and the boom gates at Coburns, Ferris and Hopkins roads will be gone this year making Melton level crossing free. We’re also building a new modern and accessible Melton Station that will open this year.

What we’re doing

From Wednesday 10 June to Monday 10 August

To build the new Melton Station northern forecourt and entrance we’ve closed car spaces at Melton Station until Monday 10 August. Approximately 400 car spaces will be available during these works. There will also be changes to PTV bus stops along Brooklyn Road with pedestrian detours in place.

Free passenger shuttle bus service

A free shuttle bus service will transport passengers from the north-western car park on Brooklyn Road to the temporary station from 6am to 9am and 3pm to 6pm, Monday to Friday until Monday 10 August.

Where possible, passengers are encouraged to use alternative transport to travel to and from Melton Station.

Alternative all-day car parking is available at Caroline Springs Station, for travel towards the city, and Bacchus Marsh Station, for travel towards Ballarat. Car park availability may vary at these stations.

Please plan ahead and allow extra time.

What to expect

• Car spaces temporarily closed at Melton Station.
• Pedestrian detours with directional signage in place.
• An increase in construction traffic entering the closed section of the car park from Brooklyn Road.

Accessible parking will be maintained at all times, however the location of accessible parking may change during these works.

We’ll make every effort to complete works on schedule; however, dates are subject to change.
