5 May 2025
We’re removing four dangerous and congested level crossings at Coburns, Exford and Ferris roads in Melton, and Hopkins Road in Truganina to make Melton boom gate free in 2026. We’re also building a new modern and accessible Melton Station.
What we’re doing
We’ll be working 24 hours a day to carry out excavation, surface preparation, track works and line marking in and around the rail corridor from 2.30am, Saturday 24 May to 4am, Tuesday 3 June.
We’ll also build a new roundabout at the intersection of Brooklyn Road and Hazel Street and rebuild the Brooklyn Road entrance to Melton Station Square Shopping Centre to allow for future bus movements in the area.
While we complete these works, there will be service changes on the Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough lines from Saturday 24 May to Saturday 7 June. Visit the PTV website for more information and to plan your journey and please allow extra travel time.
