11 September 2025
We’re removing 4 dangerous and congested level crossings at Coburns, Exford and Ferris roads in Melton, and Hopkins Road in Truganina to make Melton boom gate free in 2026. We’re also building a new modern and accessible Melton Station.
What we’re doing
Construction is underway for the new Melton Station and the rail bridges over Coburns and Exford roads.
We’ll be working during the night from Monday 22 September to Thursday 25 September to deliver rail track within the rail corridor.
These works must be undertaken at night when trains are not running.
Where and when we’ll be working
James Melrose Drive
- In the rail corridor near James Melrose Drive, Coventry Place, Canterbury Circuit and Linacre Cresent, from Monday 22 September to Thursday 25 September, 9pm to 4am each night.
Jester Drive
- In the rail corridor opposite Jester Drive from Monday 22 September to Thursday 25 September, 9pm to 4am each night.
What to expect
- Noise from machinery and vehicles within the rail corridor
- Increased lighting at night
- An increase in construction vehicles and workers in the area.
We’ll make every effort to complete works on schedule; however dates and times are subject to change.
