We’ve removed the level crossings at Coburns, Exford and Ferris roads in Melton and at Hopkins Road in Truganina and the new accessible Melton Station is open to passengers.

Thank you for your patience while we’re putting the finishing touches on the Melton Station precinct until early 2027. Works are continuing on the northern forecourt, air-conditioned waiting room, toilet facilities, bus interchange, landscaping and car parks.

What we’re doing

From Thursday 24 September until late 2026 we will be temporarily closing commuter car parks intermittently in the southern car park at Melton Station to complete landscaping, line marking, painting and drainage works.

The temporary Melton station and access path from Exford Road will be decommissioned and removed from site from Monday 5 October so we can continue building the northern car park and permanent bus interchange.

What to expect

• Station services will be from the new Melton Station, including temporary accessible toilets located near the southern station entrance on Staughton Street
• Ticket purchases will be at the new station via the myki card vending machines, contactless payments, online ticket purchases or at another nearby staffed station.
• Increased truck movements
• Dust minimised with watercarts
• Up to 30 car parks in the southern car park will be temporarily closed at times as required
• Approximately 400 car spaces will be available during these works
