The Lilydale Line is level crossing free – a year ahead of schedule.

The dangerous and congested level crossing and roundabout at Coolstore Road, Croydon has been removed with trains now running along the new rail bridge and cars traveling along the new Kent Avenue to the Lacey Street road connection.

What we’re doing

Some finishing and general maintenance works will take place in the area at times on weekdays from Monday 10 August to Friday 21 August, between 7am and 5pm.

Traffic speed reduction and lane closures will be in place in both directions, so please allow extra time for your journey. The community are encouraged to follow traffic management signage and any detours in place during these works. We’ll be in touch with individual properties and businesses to discuss any specific impacts.

Changes to the way you travel

Road

Wicklow Avenue

  • Between Kent and Toorak avenues and between Alto Avenue and Devon Street, speed reductions and lane closures on weekdays from 7am to 5pm, in August.
  • Access maintained under traffic management.

Croydon Road

  • East of Kent Avenue, speed reductions and lane closures on weekdays from 7am to 5pm, in August.
  • Access maintained under traffic management.

What to expect

  • There will be some changes to the way you travel around the area while we work. Please take care when moving around the works areas and pay attention to pedestrian and traffic detour signs in place.
  • Traffic management will be in place to assist vehicles and pedestrians around works areas throughout these works. Some minor delays may be expected at times whilst vehicle movements take place.
  • You may experience moderate noise from machinery.

Please be aware works can sometimes take longer than expected or need to be rescheduled due to weather and other factors outside of our control. Thank you for your patience while we undertake these project finishing works.
