We’ve removed the Dublin Road level crossing and opened a new Ringwood East Station, with trains now running along a new rail trench – a year ahead of schedule.

Over the coming months, we’ll continue to finish works around Ringwood East Station and the rail corridor, such as finishing the last of the station car parks, cleaning up our sites and landscaping.

We’ll continue to work during the day from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday and 7am to 3pm, Saturday, in and around the rail corridor. Works will take a short break over the holiday period from 20 December 2024 until 14 January 2025.

Ongoing works in Ringwood East

Ongoing works include:

• Completing the remaining south-western station car parks on Railway Avenue
• Footpath and road reinstatements along Dublin Road, Railway Avenue and Patterson Street
• Landscaping and re-seeding of nature strips
• Removing temporary fencing, barriers and portable sheds from work sites
• Completing the retaining wall on Railway Avenue

Impacts to local roads, footpaths and parking

Railway Avenue

Until early 2025:

• Intermittent 'stop and slow' conditions continue around the station precinct to allow works including moving barriers, machinery and vehicles in and out of the work site.

Ringwood East Station south-west car parks

• Some station car park spaces available in the south-west car park, with more sections of car park to open by the end of the year.  Please continue to observe station signage and direction from onsite traffic management.

What to expect

• Onsite traffic management will be in place to help road users and pedestrians navigate the local area safely.
• Some expected delays due to intermittent ‘stop and slow’ shuttle flow conditions on local roads.
• Presence of workers, truck movements and construction equipment.

Please be aware works can sometimes take longer than expected or need to be rescheduled due to weather and other factors outside our control.

There may be times where we’ll need to adjust our works and we’ll advise when this is happening.
