We’ve removed the Dublin Road level crossing and opened a new Ringwood East Station, with trains now running along a new rail trench – a year ahead of schedule.

Works are continuing to finish works around Ringwood East Station and the rail corridor, which include removing barriers and portable sheds, reinstating footpaths and roads, completing the retaining wall on Railway Avenue west and landscaping.

Works taking place from February 2025

Railway Avenue, Patterson Street, Dublin Road

Until early 2025:

• Intermittent 'stop and slow' conditions around the station precinct to allow works including moving barriers, machinery and vehicles in and out of the work site.

Railway Ave between Wenwood Street and Lois Street

7am – 5pm, Wednesday 12 to Thursday 13 February 2025

• Railway Ave closed between Wenwood Street and Lois Street to remove concrete barriers and install pedestrian signals.
• Vehicle detour via Lois Street, Knaith Road and Wenwood Street.
• Pedestrian footpath access will be maintained

Railway Ave between Dublin Road and Laurence Grove

7am – 5pm, Thursday 13 February and one day in late March 2025

• Railway Ave closed between Dublin Road and Laurence Grove to remove concrete barriers on Thursday 13 February followed by a one day closure in late March to remove workforce site sheds.
• Vehicle detour via Laurence Grove and Knaith Road.
• Pedestrian footpath access will be maintained

What to expect

• Onsite traffic management will be in place to help road users and pedestrians navigate the local area safely.
• Some expected delays due to intermittent ‘stop and slow’ shuttle flow conditions on local roads.
• Minimised presence of workers, truck movements and construction equipment.

Please be aware works can sometimes take longer than expected or need to be rescheduled due to weather and other factors outside our control.
