6 March 2025

We’ve removed the Dublin Road level crossing and opened a new Ringwood East Station, with trains now running along a new rail trench – a year ahead of schedule.

Works are nearing completion around Ringwood East Station and the rail corridor, which includes landscaping, removing barriers and portable sheds, and reinstating footpaths and roads.

Works taking place in March

Railway Avenue, Patterson Street, Dublin Road

  • Intermittent 'stop and slow' conditions around the station precinct to allow works including moving barriers, machinery and vehicles in and out of the work site until March.

Ringwood East northern station car park

  • The Ringwood East Station northern car park will be closed from Monday 3 March until Friday 7 March to undertake works within the Station carpark.
  • Rail commuters should seek to park in other available station car parks.

Patterson Street east

  • Intermittent lane closures will be required from Monday 3 March to Tuesday 11 March along Patterson Street (between Eastern Health and Bona Street) to carry out road works.
  • A localised road closure will be in place around Eastern Health from Wednesday 12 March until Friday 14 March.
  • Access maintained into Patterson Street, either side of the road closure. Detours via Miller Grove, Eastfield Road, Mount Dandenong Road and Dublin Road.

Miller Grove

  • Closed to traffic on Friday 7 March with a road closure required at 16 Miller Grove to allow for road reinstatement works.
  • Access to residential premises either side of the road closure in Miller Grove via Eastfield Road and Patterson Street will remain.

Railway Avenue

  • Closed between Dublin Road and Laurence Grove from 7am to 5pm, Monday 24 March to Tuesday 25 March to remove workforce site sheds.
  • Vehicle detour via Laurence Grove and Knaith Road.
  • Pedestrian footpath access will be maintained.

What to expect

  • Onsite traffic management will be in place to help road users and pedestrians navigate the local area safely.
  • Some expected delays due to intermittent ‘stop and slow’ shuttle flow conditions on local roads.
  • Minimised presence of workers, truck movements and construction equipment.

Please be aware works can sometimes take longer than expected or need to be rescheduled due to weather and other factors outside our control.

There may be times where we’ll need to adjust our works and we’ll advise when this is happening.
