The Level Crossing Removal Project’s commitment to removing 110 dangerous and congested level crossings by 2030 continues to be guided by the project’s Sustainability Plan and the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.

As such, the LXRP works in alignment with alliance partners such as the North Western Program Alliance (NWPA) to deliver infrastructure projects that achieve long-term benefits for the environment and the community.

In 2023, our focus was on fostering strategic partnerships that drive game-changing outcomes and deliver great sustainable places across NWPA.

NWPA also continued to embrace our role as Sustainability Champion for LXRP’s Project Beacon, focusing on Keon Parade to act as a ‘beacon’ in our drive to overcome barriers to the implementation of recycled materials.

NWPA’s sustainability outcomes were also recognised by the industry in 2023, with Glenroy LXRP winning multiple architecture categories in the ‘Better Future GOV Design’ Awards, and Preston taking home the ‘Infrastructure Project Excellence’ award at the Australasian Rail Industry Awards.
