20 August 2025 to 30 September 2025
The Victorian Government removed the dangerous and congested level crossing at Station Street, Beaconsfield in March 2025. The removal of this crossing contributes to making the entire Pakenham Line boom gate free later this year.
What we’re doing
Throughout August and September, we’ll complete finishing works on Beaconsfield Avenue, Kenilworth Avenue and the new McKenna Drive road bridge. We will:
- Remove temporary lighting on the McKenna Drive road bridge and connect permanent lighting in late August.
- Reconstruct the shared use path on Kenilworth Avenue from Tuesday, 2 September to Monday, 22 September.
General working hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm and Saturday from 7am to 3pm, with some out of hours works necessary at times.
Upcoming disruptions
The following disruptions will be in place between 7am, Tuesday 2 September and 5pm, Monday 22 September:
- Kenilworth Avenue will be closed to traffic between the eastbound exit of the new Kenilworth Avenue roundabout and Coach House Lane.
- Detour via Brunt Road, Princes Highway, Beaconsfield Avenue and McKenna Drive.
- Pedestrian access will be maintained around works along Kenilworth Avenue. Please follow signage.
Every effort will be made to complete works to schedule; however, dates and times are subject to change.
Traffic management will be in place for the safety of the community and our workforce. Please follow the signs and instructions when travelling around the project area.
What to expect
- Closure of Kenilworth Avenue between 7am, Tuesday 2 September and 5pm, Monday 22 September.
- Increased construction activity, noise and vibration.
- Vehicle and pedestrian detours while Kenilworth Avenue and the shared use path are closed.
