17 March 2025
We’re making the Pakenham Line level crossing free by 2025, removing 22 dangerous and congested level crossings.
What we’re doing
In good news for locals, the new McKenna Drive road bridge will open to traffic from 9am, Monday 24 March.
During March and April, we’ll continue working north and south of the rail line to complete bridge, roundabout, road, landscaping and lighting works.
Standard work hours will be 7am to 7pm, Monday to Sunday.
At times, we’ll need to work 24/7 to complete these works. Where possible, disruptive works will be scheduled for earlier in the day to minimise impacts to locals. Impacted residents will be notified prior to works commencing.
