Upcoming works

In November and December, we will continue working south of the rail line to build the new road bridge, now that the final beams have been installed.

During this time, Kenilworth Avenue will be closed as we build a new roundabout at the intersection of Kenilworth Avenue, Soldiers Road and the Beaconsfield Avenue underpass. We'll also continue works on the northern car park.

What to expect:

• Increased construction activity, noise and vibration
• Temporary road and lane closures
• Reduced speed limits
• Lighting for safe working conditions at night
• Standard work hours Monday to Friday, 6.30am to 6pm and Saturday 7am to 2.30pm, with out of hours works at times.

Changes to how you travel

Traffic management is in place for the safety of the community and workforce. Follow the signage and instructions when travelling around the project area.

Every effort will be made to complete these works during scheduled hours, however at times works may be required to continue past standard working hours.

Upcoming disruptions

As crews work to build the new road bridge, car park and roundabout, the following traffic changes will be in place.

Car park closures

• Accessible car spaces at Beaconsfield Station carpark will be closed 7am to 1.30pm on Saturday 23 November.
• Passengers with accessibility requirements are advised to use Berwick Station during this time.

Road closures

From 7am, Tuesday 19 November to 7pm, Thursday 19 December:

• Kenilworth Avenue will be closed between Soldiers Road roundabout and Station Street.
• Soldiers Road will be closed in both directions.
• Detour via Bryn Mawr Boulevard, Woods Street and Princes Highway, or Brunt Road and Princes Highway.

Pedestrian detours

Pedestrian detours will be in place around the intersection of Beaconsfield Avenue, Kenilworth Avenue and Soldiers Road from Tuesday 19 November to Thursday 19 December. Please follow signage.

Bus stop closures

From 7am to 1.30pm, Saturday 23 November:

• The Beaconsfield Station/Beaconsfield Avenue bus stop (to Berwick) will be closed.
• Alternative bus stop is located on Kenilworth Avenue, on the other side of the station.

From Tuesday 19 November to Thursday 19 December:

• Bus stops along route 836 on Kenilworth Avenue and Soldiers Road, between Station Street and Streeton Way, will be temporarily closed in both directions.
• Alternative bus stops are located at McCubbin Way/Streeton Way and Beaconsfield Avenue/Beaconsfield Station.
