Upcoming roundabout works

Works are progressing to remove the level crossing at Station Street, Beaconsfield by building a road bridge over the rail line.

In September and October, we will construct a new roundabout at the intersection of Station Street, Beaconsfield Avenue and Goff Street.

What to expect

• At times crews will work outside our standard working hours to complete round about works on Beaconsfield Avenue. This includes:
  • 24 hours works from 5pm Friday 20 September to 7pm Saturday 21 September.
  • Night works on Thursday 26 September, 7am until 11.59pm.
• Standard works hours are Monday to Sunday 7am-7pm
• Increased construction activity, noise, and vibration
• Temporary closure of roads and lanes
• Detours and reduced speed limits
• Lighting for safe working conditions at night

Changes to how you travel

• Traffic management is in place for the safety of the community and workforce. Follow the signage and instructions when travelling around the project area
• Every effort will be made to complete these works during scheduled hours, however at times works may be required to continue past standard working hours.

Upcoming disruptions

As crews work to build the new roundabout, the following traffic changes will be in place:

Road

The intersection of Station Street, Beaconsfield Avenue and Goff Street will be closed from 5pm Friday 20 September until 7pm Sunday 6 October.

Detours will be via Kenilworth Avenue, Brunt Road and Princes Highway or Kenilworth Avenue, Soldiers Road, Bryn Mawr Boulevard and Princes Highway.

Bus stop changes

Bus stops located along the following routes will close along Kenilworth Avenue, Soldiers Road and Beaconsfield Avenue from 5pm Friday 20 September to 11.59pm Sunday 6 October:

— 836 Berwick Station to Eden Rise SC)

— 926 (Berwick Station to Fountain Gate SC).

Pedestrian footpath closure

Sections of footpaths around the intersection of Station Street, Beaconsfield Avenue and Goff Street will be closed from 5pm Friday 20 September to Thursday 26 September. Local pedestrian detours will be via Souter Street, Horner Street, Princes Highway, Goff Street and Beaconsfield Avenue.
