We’re making the Pakenham Line level crossing free by 2025, removing 22 dangerous and congested level crossings.

What we’re doing

In March, we’ll continue works north and south of the rail line to complete bridge and roundabout asphalting, line marking, landscaping and lighting works. We’ll also demobilise and relocate our site sheds within the station car park.

Standard work hours will be 7am to 7pm, Monday to Sunday.

At times, we’ll need to work 24/7 to complete these works. Where possible, disruptive works will be scheduled for earlier in the day to minimise impacts to locals. Impacted residents will be notified prior to works commencing.

Upcoming disruptions

• Profiling and asphalting works from 5pm, Friday 14 March to 5pm, Sunday 16 March on the new Beaconsfield Avenue roundabout and the new road bridge. Access to homes will be maintained for local residents.
• Beaconsfield Avenue closed between Goff Street and Souter Street from 5pm, Friday 14 March to 5pm, Sunday 16 March. Detour via Princes Highway, Kenilworth Avenue, Soldiers Road and Bryn Mawr Boulevard. Access to homes will be maintained for local residents.
• Kenilworth Avenue closed between Soldiers Road and Station Street and Soldiers Road closed in both directions from 7am, Thursday 20 March to 9am, Monday 24 March. Detour via Bryn Mawr Boulevard, Woods Street and Princes Highway, or Brunt Road and Princes Highway.
• Bus route 836 (Berwick Station to Eden Rise SC) and route 926 (Pakenham Station to Fountain Gate SC) stops closed along Beaconsfield Avenue from 6pm, Friday 14 March to 5pm, Sunday 16 March.
• Bus route 836 (in both directions) closed along Kenilworth Avenue west and Soldiers Road between Station Street and Streeton Way from 7am, Thursday 20 March to 9am, Monday 24 March.

Traffic management will be in place for the safety of the community and our workforce. Please follow the signs and instructions when travelling around the project area.
