We are starting site investigations in and around Boronia Station, which will assist us in planning for upcoming improvements to the station precinct. This coincides with our ongoing work to make the Belgrave Line level crossing free between Ferntree Gully and the City.
What we’re doing
Site investigations include:
- survey and visual inspections
- geotechnical studies, which involves using a drilling rig to drill boreholes to determine ground conditions
- service locating, which involves spray marking, digging, backfill and reinstatement to locate existing underground utilities such as water, sewer, gas, electricity, and telecommunications.
What to expect
You may notice small working groups in the area until late November, working during normal construction hours between 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday and 7am to 1pm on Saturdays.
If any activities require works to be undertaken outside of these times, we will provide further notices to nearby residents and businesses.
Some car spaces will be temporarily closed and minor pedestrian detours in place whilst we undertake these investigations. Traffic management will be in place to guide you.
While the works are not expected to be disruptive, some activity and construction related noise may be noticeable from machinery.
