The second stage of the Hurstbridge Line Duplication will deliver further improvements, including more train services, less crowding on peak trains and better connections to public transport in Melbourne’s northeast.

Construction work will take place on Saturday 7 October and Sunday 8 October within station precincts and along the rail line in Greensborough, Montmorency and Diamond Creek.

Construction will take place:

  • 7am to 8pm, Saturday 7 October in Greensborough, Montmorency, and Diamond Creek.
  • 8am to 6pm, Sunday 8 October in Greensborough, Montmorency, and Diamond Creek.

What to expect

During these works you may notice:

  • works within the Greensborough, Montmorency, and Diamond Creek station precincts and rail corridors
  • noise, dust, or vibrations from heavy machinery working in the rail corridor
  • the use of light towers
  • heavy vehicles using local roads for haulage and deliveries to site
  • the use of EJ Andrews Reserve, Briar Hill, during daytime hours on Saturday and Sunday
  • changes to the way you move around the area.

Changes to the way you travel

  • Buses will replace trains between Heidelberg and Hurstbridge on the Hurstbridge Line from 8.30pm, Friday 6 October to last service, Sunday 8 October.
  • Greensborough Station will be closed from 5.30am, Saturday 7 October to 3am, Monday 9 October.
  • Access between Poulter Avenue and Para Road via the lifts will remain open.
  • myki top up facilities will be available.
  • Customer service staff, toilets and myki touch on/off facilities are available at Watsonia and Eltham stations.
