The second stage of the Hurstbridge Line Duplication will deliver further improvements, including more train services, less crowding on peak trains and better connections to public transport in Melbourne’s northeast.

Works taking place

Road resurfacing works and temporary barrier removal on Para Road will take place overnight on Wednesday 30 August, and between Tuesday 5 September and Friday 8 September. Detours will be in place during this time.

What to expect

• Road resurfacing on Para Road on Wednesday 30 August between 9pm and 5am. Detours will be in place during this time.
• Temporary barrier removal along Para Road between Tuesday 5 September and Friday 8 September between 9pm and 5am. Detours will be in place during this time.
• Construction workers, vehicles and equipment on site undertaking the works.
• Noise and light spill while work takes place. Noise may include profiling to remove the road surface, asphalt paving machinery, support vehicles and crew undertaking works.
• Until the works are fully completed, discrepancies between the road and driveway levels are likely. Drivers are urged to use caution when entering or exiting their driveway until works have completed.
• Temporary traffic lane closures and detours during works. Traffic management will be in place to help you move safely through the area.
• Pedestrian access to residential properties and businesses will always be maintained.
• We will be in touch with directly impacted residents.
