15 October 2025

We’re getting ready to run longer 9-car VLocity trains on the Melton Line from 2027, one year ahead of schedule. Running longer trains will boost passenger capacity by 50% during peak services.

To allow the longer trains to stop along the line, we’re extending the platforms at Deer Park Station.

From Monday 20 October to early December, we’re undertaking construction site establishment works within the rail corridor and the Deer Park Station precinct. This site will be in place until early 2026.

Works will be conducted during regular construction hours of 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday and 7am to 1pm on Saturdays.

What we’re doing

  • Setting up a temporary site office and utilities.
  • Installing temporary fencing and vehicle access tracks on both sides of the station.
  • Piling and installation of crushed rock for construction foundations.

What to expect

  • An increase in construction vehicles on local streets including Railway Parade and Eagle Way.
  • Construction vehicles travelling through the station car park to access site.
  • Some car parks temporarily unavailable on Eagle Way to allow for safe truck movements.
  • Minor traffic delays while large items are delivered to site.
  • An increase in noise, dust and vibration.

Traffic management will be in place to help you move around the area.

Access to residential properties and Deer Park Station will be maintained at all times.
