We’re getting ready to run longer nine-car VLocity trains on the Melton Line from 2028

As part of the $650 million Melton Line Upgrade, we're building a new stabling yard in Cobblebank, approximately 700m east of the new Melton Station, to house the new trains. We’ll also carry out works at stations along the Melton Line to get ready for the new 9-car VLocity trains.

As part of early site investigations, we’re undertaking works to help us understand local conditions and support the planning of the project.

What we’re doing

We’re testing the ground conditions within the rail corridor at Cobblebank Station each night from 9pm to 4am, from Sunday 17 August to Tuesday 19 August.

What to expect

Within the rail corridor

  • Minor increase in noise
  • Additional lighting for night works
  • Construction workers and machinery within the rail corridor

Access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.

We’ll make every effort to complete works on schedule, however dates are subject to change.
