21 March 2024
We’re building a brand new station in Tarneit West as part of a commitment from the Victorian Government to improve safety and accessibility, helping to better connect the growing suburbs of the west to Melbourne’s CBD.
To be located near Davis and Leakes roads in Tarneit West, the new station will include a pedestrian crossing, a four-bay bus interchange and parking for up to 400 commuters.
What we’re doing
We will conduct site investigations on the project site for the new station in Tarneit West from late March to early July 2024. As part of these investigations, we will survey the ground conditions within the project area. This work helps the project team understand the makeup of the soil and rock under the surface of the ground.
A small crew of approximately 8 people will carry out these works. The crew will use excavators and geotechnical drill rigs to dig at multiple locations on the project site.
Over the coming months you may also notice our crew undertaking other site investigations including feature surveys, and soil and water testing.
Where we'll work
We’ll be working within the project site, near Davis and Leakes roads in Tarneit West.
When we'll work
We’ll conduct the works between Monday 25 March to early July 2024, pending weather conditions. We’ll work between 8am to 6pm during this time.
What to expect
While we work, you can expect:
- work crews, machinery and construction vehicles (including trucks) in the area
- temporary fencing around the work areas to ensure safety of the community and our crews
- medium levels of noise, similar to a truck engine running, with louder drilling sounds at times if rock is encountered.
