We’re undertaking signalling works along the Werribee Line in August.

In August 2025, we’ll work around the clock between Laverton and Aircraft Stations to complete signalling works while trains are not running.

Buses will replace trains on sections of the Werribee and Williamstown lines from 8:30pm Friday 8 August to last service Sunday 17 August.

What we're doing

At the Balmoral Street pedestrian crossing and between Laverton and Aircraft Stations, we’ll test and complete signalling works on the network.

When we’ll work

We will work through the day and night at certain times.

• From 8.30pm Friday 8 August to Monday 18 August, between Laverton and Aircraft Stations, and along the Werribee Line
• Through the night from 9pm Friday 15 August to 4am Saturday 16 August.

What to expect

While we work, you can expect:

• Intermittent ringing of the pedestrian bell located at the Balmoral Street pedestrian crossing in Laverton overnight on Friday 15 August for testing purposes
• traffic controllers safely assisting pedestrians through the crossing, which will remain open through the night works.

Changes to the way you travel

Werribee and Williamstown lines

• Buses replace trains on sections of the Werribee and Williamstown lines from 8.30pm Friday 8 August to last service Sunday 17 August.  For more information, visit the PTV website or contact 1800 800 007.

Laverton Station car park

• Up to 100 car spaces at the Laverton Station commuter car park will close from Friday 8 August to Monday 18 August to facilitate train replacement us operation. Please use remaining available spaces.
