The Victorian Government is getting on with making the Werribee Line boom gate-free by 2030, paving the way for more trains more often.
We’re removing the Hudsons Road level crossing with a rail bridge and building a new Spotswood Station with better facilities for passengers. Elevating the rail line provides better walking and cycling connections to the local neighbourhood and unlocks opportunities to rejuvenate the station precinct including planting more trees and greenery.
What we're doing
As part of our early project planning, we are conducting soil sampling investigations to assist in design development and to better understand local ground conditions.
These soil sampling works will take place on Hall Street and Hope Street near the rail corridor at times between March and May. Activities include using hand tools to test ground conditions and collecting soil samples.
What to expect
- Soil sampling will take place during the first and third weeks of each month between March and May.
- Some sections of on-street parking will be temporarily unavailable while investigations are underway.
- Traffic management will be in place to safely guide motorists and pedestrians through the area.
