Level crossing gone, Hoppers Junction here to stay

The level crossing at Old Geelong Road was removed by building a new road bridge in December 2021, as part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to removing 85 level crossings by 2025.

This year, a new pedestrian and cyclist overpass will open at Hoppers Crossing Station, providing a safe connection over the rail line.

New landscaped plazas will be built at the former level crossing site, improving connections to the station and shopping precinct.

There will be changes to the way you travel to Hoppers Crossing Station and Hoppers Junction while we work in the area.

Hoppers Junction is open for business

While we upgrade the Hoppers Junction car park and build new community spaces, there will be changes to the way you access the shops.

The Hoppers Junction shopping precinct boasts a variety of quality restaurants, cafes, goods, and services close to the station.

Access to the shops will always be open, so make sure you keep coming by to support local businesses in the lead up to improved community spaces opening in 2022.

Improved community spaces coming this year

The new plazas at Hoppers Crossing Station will include secure bike parking and a bike repair station, drop off areas, seating and drinking fountains.

At Hoppers Junction, we’ll update access and line marking in the car park to make it easier and safer for locals to walk to the station, visit the shops, and enjoy the new landscaped plazas.
