We’re undertaking signalling works along the Werribee Line in August.

In August 2025, we’ll work around the clock along the Werribee Line to complete signalling works while trains are not running.

Buses will replace trains on sections of the Werribee and Williamstown lines from 8:30pm, Friday 8 August to last service Sunday 17 August.

What we're doing

At the Werribee Station car park, we’ll:

  • Set up site sheds and worker facilities in the far western section of the commuter car park
  • test and complete signalling works along the Werribee Line.

When we'll work

  • From Sunday 3 August to Saturday 23 August the site sheds and worker facilities at the station will be in place
  • From 8.30pm, Friday 8 August to Sunday 17 August there will be signalling works taking place 24/7 along the Werribee Line.

What to expect

While we work, you can expect:

  • Increased vehicle activity during the day and night as worker vehicles enter and exit the car park from Coop and Manly Streets
  • lighting towers and a power generator will be in place for worker safety in the far western section of the station commuter car park.

Changes to the way you travel

Werribee and Williamstown lines

  • Buses replace trains on sections of the Werribee and Williamstown lines from 8.30pm, Friday 8 August to last service Sunday 17 August.  For more information, visit the PTV website or contact 1800 800 007.

Werribee Station car park

  • Up to 144 car spaces at the Werribee Station car park will close from Friday 18 August to Monday 18 August to facilitate train replacement bus operations. Please use remaining available spaces.

Werribee Station car park – western car park

  • Up to 40 car spaces at the Werribee Station western car park will close from Sunday 3 August to Saturday 23 August . Please use remaining available spaces.
