We are delivering stage 1 of Melbourne Airport Rail, with the Australian and Victorian governments investing more than $4 billion to deliver 6km of major rail upgrades from West Footscray to Albion. The works will include transforming Sunshine into a transport superhub and building new modern and accessible stations at Tottenham and Albion.
We’re continuing site investigations in the rail corridor between Tottenham and West Footscray stations in September.
What we’re doing
- We’ll be locating underground services along Sunshine Road between McArthur and Currajong
streets from 10pm to 7.30am, each night, Friday 18 September to Sunday 20 September.
What to expect
- Use of high-pressure water-based non-destructive digging at times.
- Increased lighting, noise, vehicles and workers in the area.
Changes to the way you travel
Road
- One eastbound lane will be closed on Sunshine Road between McArthur and Currajong streets from
10pm to 7.30am each night, Friday 18 September to Sunday 20 September. - The other eastbound lane will remain open to traffic throughout works.
For your safety, please follow signage and traffic management in place. We’ll make every effort to complete these works on schedule, however dates are subject to change.
