On Saturday 7 November and Sunday 8 November, you may notice work crews in the rail corridor while trains aren’t running. We’ll be working in the rail corridor between Barwon Avenue, Sunshine North, and Roberts Road, Airport West.
What we’re doing
- Moving a small track trolley along the rail corridor
- Measuring the levels of the existing tracks
- Digging 10-15 small test holes along the rail corridor to check the layers of material beneath the tracks, including the thickness and type of materials used to support the tracks.
- Equipment will include worker vehicles, an 8-tonne excavator, a jumping jack compactor and hand tools.
What to expect
- Work crews, machinery and construction vehicles in the area
- Medium levels of construction noise at various times
- Equipment and works crews will access the rail corridor via gates on Moyangul Drive. You may notice increased traffic movements during the works.
