We are delivering stage 1 of Melbourne Airport Rail, with the Australian and Victorian governments investing more than $4 billion to deliver 6km of major rail upgrades from West Footscray to Albion. The works will include transforming Sunshine into a transport superhub and building new modern and accessible stations at Tottenham and Albion.
In June, we will work on the shared use paths north and south of Sunshine Station, as part of the works to relocate the jet fuel pipeline.
What we're doing
- Installing in-ground protection for the new jet fuel pipeline
- Undertaking service investigations
- Tree removal beside the shared use path at Harvester Road
What to expect
- Work crews, machinery and construction vehicles (including trucks) in the area
- Medium levels of construction noise at various times, as well as dust and vibration
- Traffic management to safely facilitate works
When we'll work
Standard working hours:
- Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm
- Saturdays, 7am to 1pm
Changes to the way you travel
Short section of shared use path between Sunshine Station and Harvester Road closed from 7am, Monday 15 June to 6pm, Friday 19 June.
- Please follow the signed detour, cyclists will need to dismount.

A section of shared use path south of Sunshine Station, parallel to Station Place and Drayton Street closed from 7am, Thursday 18 June to 1pm, Saturday 20 June and 7am, Tuesday 23 June to 6pm, Friday 26 June.
- Please follow the signed detour along Station Place and Drayton Street.
