We are delivering stage 1 of Melbourne Airport Rail, with the Australian and Victorian governments investing more than $4 billion to deliver 6km of major rail upgrades from West Footscray to Albion. The works will include transforming Sunshine into a transport superhub and building new modern and accessible stations at Tottenham and Albion.

In preparation for major construction works on Melbourne Airport Rail Stage 1, we're conducting site investigations in and around the Sunshine area.

What we’re doing

• We’ll be conducting ground soil testing in the Sunshine area from Tuesday 29 September
  to Wednesday 14 October.

What to expect

• Work crews, machinery and construction vehicles in the area.
• Low to moderate levels of construction noise at various times, as well as dust and vibration.
• A small number of short-term car park closures and lane closures within the Sunshine Station car parks.
• Pedestrian changes in the Station Place bus bays and around the Sunshine Station precinct.

When we'll work

We’ll undertake works in the following locations:

• In the rail reserve between Anderson Road and Sunshine Station from 7am to 6pm,
  Tuesday 29 September to Monday 5 October.
• In the Station Place bus precinct from 7am to 6pm, Tuesday 6 October and Wednesday 7 October.
• In the Sun Crescent car park from 7am to 6pm, Thursday 8 October and Friday 9 October.
• In the Sunshine Station western car park from 7am to 6pm, Tuesday 13 October and
  Wednesday 14 October.
