We are delivering Melbourne Airport Rail Stage 1: West Footscray to Albion Rail Upgrade, with the Australian and Victorian governments investing more than $4 billion to deliver 6km of major rail upgrades from West Footscray to Albion. The works will include transforming Sunshine into a transport superhub and building new modern and accessible stations at Tottenham and Albion.
In mid-June there will be short term disruptions as we finalise boring works to relocate underground water services in the Sunshine Station precinct.
What we're doing

- pipe pulling.
What to expect
- work crews, machinery and construction vehicles (including trucks) in the area
- low to high levels of construction noise at various time, as well as dust and vibration
- lighting in place when we work at night.
When we'll work
We will undertake the following night works in Sunshine:
- Working 24/7 from Monday 15 June to Friday 19 June – boring to relocate underground water services, in the precinct around Sunshine Station.
Changes to the way you travel
For your safety, please follow signage and traffic management in place.
Road
- The following roads will be closed overnight from 11pm to 5am each night on Thursday 18 June and Friday 19 June:
- Harvester Road, between Devonshire Road and Hampshire Road/Dickson Street roundabout
- Hampshire Road, between Devonshire Road and Dickson Street
- Hampshire Road overpass, between Sun Crescent and Dickson Street
- Dickson Street, between Hampshire Road and Clarke Street
Pedestrian
- Shared use path between Devonshire Road and Hampshire Road/Dickson Street roundabout closed until 8am, Saturday 20 June.
- Short section of shared use path between Sunshine Station and Harvester Road closed until 6pm, Friday 19 June.
