5 October 2026
We are delivering stage 1 of Melbourne Airport Rail, with the Australian and Victorian governments investing more than $4 billion to deliver 6km of major rail upgrades from West Footscray to Albion. The works will include transforming Sunshine into a transport superhub and building new modern and accessible stations at Tottenham and Albion.
We recently notified residents about 24/7 jet fuel pipeline connection works scheduled for early October at our Albion Station and Sunshine Road sites.
The dates for these works have changed and they are now expected to occur in either late October or November.
What we’re doing
- Cutting, welding and installing pipe valves and fittings.
- Establishing and testing the new connection.
What to expect
- Work crews, machinery and construction vehicles (including trucks) in the area.
- Moderate levels of construction noise at times, as well as dust and vibration.
- Lighting in place to safely facilitate overnight works.
When we'll work
Works are currently expected to take place 24/7 over a 5-day period in late October or November. We will be in touch with impacted residents when the dates are confirmed.
These dates are dependent on a number of external factors, including weather, and are subject to change.
