We are delivering stage 1 of Melbourne Airport Rail, with the Australian and Victorian governments investing more than $4 billion to deliver 6km of major rail upgrades from West Footscray to Albion. The works will include transforming Sunshine into a transport superhub and building new modern and accessible stations at Tottenham and Albion.

What we’re doing

As the first stage of building the new underpass for the new Tottenham Station, we will install large steel sheets into the ground at Tottenham Station. Once this is done, we can begin excavating the new underpass. Works will take place:

• During the day 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday from Monday 5 October to Friday 6 November
• During the day and at night (24/7) from 7am Tuesday 20 to 7am Saturday 31 October
• 8pm to 8am at times between Saturday 10 October and Friday 6 November.

What to expect

While we work, you may notice:

• Locally significant noise and vibration. We will be in touch with directly impacted residents.
• An increase in construction vehicles and workers in the area
• Heavy machinery operating in the rail corridor
• Directional lighting at night – directed away from residential properties where possible.

We acknowledge these works may be impactful and thank you for your patience. We’ll make every effort to complete these works on schedule however dates are subject to change.
