To achieve this Sustainability Vision, Rail Projects Victoria (RPV) is committed to:

• contributing to Victoria achieving its greenhouse gas emission reduction targets
• using the latest science-based research to prepare for and respond to the challenges presented by climate change
• supporting Victoria’s transition to a circular economy by managing resources efficiently and prioritising recycled materials, and
• maintaining and striving to enhance biodiversity health, recognising its foundational role in social and economic wellbeing.

To give effect to this Policy, our people will:

• drive industry leading outcomes across RPV’s key sustainability focus areas of energy, materials, water management, livability and legacy and climate change resilience
• champion a collaborative approach to ensure integrated economic, social and environmentally sustainable outcomes;
• drive sustainability outcomes by establishing a framework for setting objectives and targets for all RPV projects, across all RPV sustainability focus areas
• establish and implement practices to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, objectives and targets
• encourage innovation in sustainable design, construction and advocacy to promote new ideas and thinking
• drive sustainable outcomes across our supply chain through adopting sustainable procurement practices
• commit to providing our key stakeholders transparent reporting on our sustainability performance through RPV’s Sustainability Annual Report, and
• empower our staff with information, training and support to improve sustainability awareness and carbon and climate literacy.
