We’re upgrading the pedestrian bridge over Lower Plenty Road between Cantala Avenue and Silk Street.

Upcoming work on the pedestrian bridge will provide a safer, more accessible crossing for pedestrians by creating more space between the road and bridge, upgrading railings and improving road signage.

What you need to know:

From 8pm Friday 11 to 5am Monday 14 July and from 8pm Friday 18 to 5am Monday 21 July, Lower Plenty Road will be closed between Greensborough Road and Rosanna Road with detours in place.

Silk Street, Interlaken Parade, Brassey Avenue, Cantala Avenue and Kambea Crescent will also be closed at Lower Plenty Road. Local access to homes will be maintained, with detours in place. We’re working hard to minimise disruptions to the community. Drivers can expect delays of up to 35 minutes during these works.

From 8pm Friday 11 to 5am Monday 21 July the pedestrian bridge will also be closed with a detour in place for pedestrians and cyclists. Dates are subject to change. We encourage you to stay up to date with traffic conditions via Victoria’s Big Build website bigbuild.vic.gov.au/disruptions
