We’re upgrading the Eastern Freeway with a new Eastern Busway, better walking and cycling connections, smart technology and a link to North East Link - supporting faster, safe and more reliable travel in Melbourne's east.
What we're doing We're building safe work areas to support future construction activities. We're also continuing works on the Eastern Freeway to install new traffic management technology including trenching, underground boring and some vegetation removal.
When are we working? Day works - 7am to 7pm from Monday to Friday and 7am to 3pm Saturdays and Sundays Night works - 7pm to 7am from Monday to Saturday Day / night works at times during day and night works hours We use water carts, street sweepers and noise blankets wherever possible to reduce dust, mud tracking and noise while we work. We'll be in touch with impacted residents regarding specific times for construction activities.
Upcoming freeway disruptions Freeway disruptions are expected as part of these works. Expect overnight lane, ramp and carriageway closures.
