31 January 2025

We’re working on both sides of Bulleen Road as tunnelling continues on North East Link.

What we'll be doing

Activities to support tunnelling works will take place 24 hours a day, seven days a week. During this time, we’ll aim to minimise noise and light impacts away from your property as much as possible.

Overnight deliveries

From February, we'll start delivering large pre-cast panel beams that will form part of the southern ventilation structure and roof of the tunnel.

Deliveries will occur between 11pm and 5am Mondays to Fridays, with up to six deliveries each night.

Most deliveries will enter from Manningham Road and Bulleen Road before entering our work site via the

Marcellin and Manningham Hotel & Club access road.

The northbound lanes on Bulleen Road will remain open at all times. Short-term delays of up to 10 minutes on Bulleen Road southbound may be experienced during each delivery as external pilot vehicles and traffic management safely guide the beams onto the site.

Managing construction impacts

Throughout our works, you may experience noise, light, dust, and vibration. We manage these impacts through real-time monitoring, water carts and street sweepers, targeted lighting, and reducing noise and vibration within the construction zone.

You may notice workers on local streets capturing photos as part of our ongoing management of these impacts.

We do this in conjunction with our modelling to ensure we have an accurate understanding of how these impacts may be felt in different areas. We will notify you before capturing any photos that include your property and we are happy to provide these photos upon request.

You may also see workers machinery in place, in and around construction areas, workers completing surveys in local streets and an increase of trucks removing dirt from our worksites.

To stay safe, please follow all instructions from signage and traffic controllers. We appreciate your patience and understanding throughout these works.

Eastern Freeway Upgrades

We’re preparing to move traffic onto new lanes in 2025.

In February for up to six weeks, the Ringwood-bound lanes will be split around a new work area on the freeway.

We’ll maintain the same number of lanes and the 80 km/h speed limit. Drivers exiting at Bulleen Road will need to stay in the left lane. Similar traffic changes will follow on the inbound lanes of the Eastern Freeway from March.

Works are ramping up in Doncaster, as we begin setting up a worksite at Doncaster Park and Ride ahead of major upgrades to the Doncaster Road interchange and the park and ride facility. Buses are continuing to run through the area with temporary bus stops open on either side of Doncaster Road – just a few minutes’ walk away.

We'll keep using works notices to keep you up to date. You can now also sign up to SMS updates to hear about any unexpected changes and traffic near you. To register, text 'Bulleen' to 0447 251 237. Alternatively, visit northeastlink.vic.gov.au/subscribe.

Keeping in touch

We’ll be out talking to nearby residents and businesses about these works in more detail, including how we’ll be managing any local impacts. If you have any questions now, please contact the NELP 24/7 Contact Centre on 1800 105 105.
