13 May 2025
We're upgrading the Eastern Freeway with new express lanes, new traffic management technology, Melbourne's first express busway and a seamless connection to North East Link.
What we're doing
To allow the Bulleen Road citybound entry ramp to connect with the newly paved sections of the Eastern Freeway, we need to create room for crews to safely complete pavement works.
From 9pm, Friday 23 May to 5am, Monday 26 May 2025, we’ll be doing 24/7 works over the weekend on the Bulleen Road citybound entry ramp and along the Eastern Freeway, to upgrade permanent and temporary road surfaces.
During this time the Bulleen Road citybound entry ramp will be closed with detours of up to 20 minutes in place via major roads. See map overleaf.
In preparation for the weekend ramp closure, we'll work overnight under lane closures to realign safety barriers along the Eastern Freeway in the citybound direction between Burke and Bulleen roads, from 7pm to 6am on Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 May.
As works progress, there may be additional night works required. We’ll ensure residents receive advanced notification of these works.
