Construction snapshot

In July, we completed our second major lift over the Eastern Freeway in Bulleen. We're now working towards our third major lift in mid August. These structures will form part of the ramps connecting the Eastern Freeway and the new North East Link tunnels.

We'll continue upgrades to Thompsons Road over the coming months, bringing the area between Bulleen Road and the freeway entry ramp near completion.

There will be ramp closures in Bulleen and Doncaster as we work to move these ramps into their final alignments.

In Doncaster, we're continuing to install beams for the Doncaster Road bridge over the freeway and build up the multi-deck car park at Doncaster Park & Ride.

When are we working?

Day works: 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday and 7am to 3pm, Saturdays and Sundays
Night works: 6pm to 7am, Monday to Saturday and 3pm to 7am, Saturdays and Sundays
Day and night works: at times during day and night works hours
24/7 works: at times with notification provided before works

We use water carts and noise mitigation measures wherever possible to reduce dust and noise while we work. We'll be in touch with impacted residents regarding specific times for construction activities and to offer support.

Upcoming disruptions

Doncaster Road Ringwood-bound entry ramp closed from 9pm, Tuesday 4 August to mid October.

Eastern Freeway closed between Bulleen and Springvale roads from 10pm, Friday 14 August to 5am, Monday 17 August.

Thompsons Road closed between Bulleen Road and the Thompsons Road Ringwood-bound entry ramp from 10pm, Friday 14 August to 5am, Monday 14 September.

Bulleen Road citybound entry ramp closed from 9pm, Tuesday 18 August to 5am, Monday 14 September.

Finishing works for walking and cycling bridge at Estelle Street
Building temporary support towers in preparation for beam lifts
Earthworks, drainage and building permanent barriers in the centre median
Piling, steel and concrete works to build foundations for overhead structures and permanent barriers
Sewer and watermain relocation works along Estelle Street. Earthworks and installing panels for retaining walls on freeway near Bulleen Road and Estelle Street
