Works are progressing across all our sites, with new bridges and major interchanges continuing to take shape along the freeway.

In December, we opened new walking and cycling bridges at Heyington Avenue, Doncaster and Estelle Street, Balwyn North, delivering safer, easier crossings over the Eastern Freeway.

We also reached a major milestone, successfully switching traffic onto the city side of the new Doncaster Road bridge in December. The old bridge was demolished in early January, with construction on the Ringwood side of the new bridge to begin in 2026.

At Bulleen Road interchange, the flyover structures providing direct connections in and out of the North East Link tunnels are taking shape, with more than 30 of 188 beams now in place.

When are we working?

• Day works - 6am to 7pm from Monday to Friday and 7am to 3pm Saturdays and Sundays
• Night works - 6pm to 7am from Monday to Saturday, 3pm to 6am Saturdays
• Day / night works at times during day and night works hours
• 24-hour works (at times) - Notification provided before works.

We use water carts and noise mitigation measures wherever possible to reduce dust and noise while we work. We'll be in touch with impacted residents regarding specific times for construction activities and to offer support.

Zone 3: Doncaster to Tram roads and Valda Wetlands
