There'll be significant disruptions to the Eastern Freeway between Doncaster and Middleborough roads in 2026 as we demolish the Doncaster Road bridge and install high voltage cables under the freeway.

Full freeway closure in both directions between Doncaster and Middleborough roads.

To safely demolish the existing Doncaster Road interchange bridge, we'll close the Eastern Freeway in both directions between Doncaster and Middleborough roads. While the freeway is closed, we'll also install high voltage cables under the freeway between Tram and Middleborough roads. The Doncaster Road citybound exit ramp will be closed from Monday 12 January while we construct a temporary ramp, which will open to traffic in late January.

Significant delays of up to 90 minutes are expected during the closure. We encourage you to avoid the area if you can and plan your journey.
