Your handy guide to the West Gate Neighbourhood Fund
Applications are now open for the West Gate Neighbourhood Fund.
Here’s your chance to get your community project funded.
Types of projects that are eligible
- Participation equipment grants: up to $5,000 to support community participation in local sport, art or recreation activities.
- Connecting neighbourhoods grants: up to $10,000 for a one-off project or activity that aims to improve community connectedness and participation.
- Celebrating neighbourhoods grants: up to $20,000 for festivals, events, and art installations that bring local people together.
- Transforming neighbourhoods grants: up to $50,000 for a single improvement or up to $100,000 for multiple improvements that enhance quality, usability and accessibility of local environments, community centres or sport and recreation facilities.
Projects should be completed within 12 months of the funding announcement.
Before you apply
Make sure you have:
- Incorporation Registration Certificate
- ABN
- Public Liability Insurance certificate
- Auspice organisation information (if relevant)
- Detailed project information, including title, type, timeline, location, costs and community benefits
- Responses to assessment criteria
- Quotes for any item over $1,000.

Our criteria
- Community connectedness: will your project help people connect and build a stronger community?
- Community need: does it address priority area for your community?
- Capacity: can your organisation deliver the project on time and within budget?
Applications are encouraged from the following suburbs: Altona North, Brooklyn, Footscray, South Kingsville, Spotswood, and Yarraville.

Applications close 3pm, Tuesday 30 July 2024
