Road resurfacing of The Avenue under the West Gate Freeway
The Avenue underpass will be closed overnight between Tuesday 6 December and Friday 16 December, from 7pm to 7am, to resurface and reinstate the area underneath the freeway bridge.
Vehicle access of the underpass will be available during the day.
Construction activities will include road resurfacing, kerb works, guard rail installation and speed bump reinstatement.

What you can expect
- Increased construction activity and vehicles in the area.
- Water-spray trucks and road sweepers used in the local streets around our worksites.
- Works may be rescheduled and dates are subject to change.
- Other works continuing include freeway verge works until July 2023, shared use path works, overhead freeway gantry signage works, footpath. Noise wall installation and freeway technology system works will also continue and will include some night works.
- So we can continue ongoing works on the construction of the new Hyde Street ramps, there will be ongoing overnight closures of the Williamstown Road inbound entry ramp
