The West Gate Tunnel Project team has recently been set up on Frederick Street to undergo verification drilling and testing of the ground conditions due to rectification works on one of our cross passages.
We have encountered some delays which means we will need to extend the closure of Frederick Street between Stephen Street and Hyde Street between 7am–5pm from Saturday 8 July onwards (excluding Sunday 9 July). We expect this next phase of work could take up to a week or two to finish. There may also be further work on Frederick Street in coming weeks, which we will get in touch with you about closer to the time.
We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause local residents. Access to your property will be maintained with the assistance of traffic controllers
