Installing support structures for the new elevated road and veloway
What is happening?
Work is continuing along Footscray Road to build the new elevated road and veloway. The first batch of large steel beams will be delivered to site requiring the use of oversized vehicles. These beams once in place, will span across Footscray Road to support the elevated road.
In order to install the beams safely, a combination of eastbound and full closures of Footscray Road are required.
What to expect and when
From Monday 5 September through to Sunday 11 September 2022, eastbound and full road closures of Footscray Road will be required for the installation of the first batch of steel beams along Footscray Road, between Dock Link Road and Appleton Dock Road.
Detour options are listed overleaf and there will be on-road signage to guide road users during the closures.
