Citylink between Footscray Road and Dynon Road

When we’ll be working

10pm Friday 8 December to 5am Monday 11 December 2023.

A section of CityLink between Footscray Road and Dynon Road is due to be closed in both directions.

As part of the West Gate Tunnel Project, work is rapidly progressing to build the new connections between the West Gate Tunnel and the west, the north and the city.

What we’ll be doing

This is so crews can lift huge pieces of steel into place to form the base of the new ramp between CityLink and the elevated motorway above Footscray Road.

Overnight northbound closures

The northbound carriageway is due to require nightly closures between Footscray Road and Dynon Road on:

• Tuesday 12 December
• Friday 15 December

Construction and noise

You may notice minor construction noise, including intermittent noise at night.

If more noise is expected, the West Gate Tunnel Project team will contact residents and businesses directly.

Changes to the way you travel

All other sections of CityLink are due to remain open.

Motorists will be able to detour around the closure, please see the map overleaf for local routes.

Delays are expected – so allow extra travel time.

Travelling to Melbourne Airport that weekend? Consider taking the M80 Ring Road and allow extra travel time.

Plan your journey in advance and check traffic conditions before you travel.

We’re working with the local community to help workers, customers and visitors move safely through the area and understand these traffic disruptions.
