1 October 2024
What’s happening?
The Federation Trail between Kororoit Creek Trail and Millers Road will be closed from 9pm 8 October to 5am 14 December 2024.
What we’ll be doing
We’ll be re-surfacing approximately 2km of the Federation Trail in Brooklyn between the Kororoit Creek Trail and Millers Road as part of the project’s delivery of 14km of new and upgraded walking and cycling paths. These works will help to create a smoother and safer journey for both cyclists and pedestrians.
While we need to temporarily close this section of the Federation Trail, we’ll be opening the new connection at the Kororoit Creek Trail, along with the upgraded section of the Federation Trail between Millers Road and Fogarty Avenue. This will provide a detour route during the resurfacing works. These paths are important connections, helping to create an enjoyable and safer active transport corridor to and from Melbourne’s west.
Impacts
Federation Trail closed between Kororoit Creek Trail and Millers Road 24/7 from 9pm Tuesday 8 October to 5am Saturday 14 December 2024.
Please note, the West Gate Tunnel Project does not recommend cyclists using Geelong Road due to the high number of vehicles and trucks using this major arterial road.
