Railway Place, Dryburgh, Victoria and Spencer streets
From Monday 24 March 2024 until mid-April, 9pm to 5am, we’ll be undertaking nightworks installing street signage on Dryburgh, Victoria and Spencer streets. While we endeavour to undertake work during normal construction hours, these works are required to occur at night during low traffic conditions.
When we'll be working
We’ll be working between 24 March and mid-April 2025, 9pm to 5am.
What we’ll be doing
These works will include:
- Construction activity and noise at night
- Traffic controllers and traffic signage installation
- Temporary lane closures on Railway Place, Spencer, Dryburgh and Victoria streets
- Non-destructive digging, trucks, generators, concrete pouring, coring plant and machinery in use
- Installation of signage with handtools in use

This work is subject to approvals and may change due to site and weather conditions.
Changes to the way you travel
- From Monday 24 March to mid-April, there will overnight lane closures on Spencer, Dryburgh and Victoria streets
- Traffic management including signs to guide pedestrians and traffic will be in place as needed – Lighting towers will be in use to ensure safety – During this time, access to properties will be maintained
- Further detour information including maps for cyclists and pedestrians is available by visiting bigbuild.vic.gov.au/disruptions.
Noise
Construction activity, including noise and vibration is to be expected during these works. Depending on the type of works and if works are expected to create extra noise, the West Gate Tunnel Project team will be in contact with residents directly.
