From Thursday 14 November until Friday 20 December 2024, 7am to 6pm, we’ll be carrying out critical utility installation works along the walking and cycling path between Anderson, Stawell and Dryburgh streets.

When we'll be working

We'll be working between 14 November and 20 December 2024, 7am to 6pm.

Works and impacts.

These works will include:

  • Installing temporary construction fencing
  • Temporary removal of three car parks on Anderson Street
  • Saw cutting and removing sections of the footpath between Anderson, Stawell and Dryburgh streets
  • Pruning and garden bed removal
  • Creating a trench with an excavator
  • Installing conduits and utilities

Backfilling soil and reinstatement of the path and garden beds.

Please note, during these works access to the dog park between Stawell Street and Dryburgh Street may not be available.

This work may be subject to approvals and may change due to site and weather conditions.

Changes to the way you travel

  • From Thursday 14 November to Friday 20 December, there will be a continuous, full closure of the walking and cycling path between Anderson, Stawell and Dryburgh streets with a temporary detour diverting users onto Ireland Street
  • During this time, access to properties on Anderson, Stawell and Dryburgh streets will be maintained
  • Traffic management including signs to guide pedestrians and traffic will be in place as needed
  • If you’re a resident or work within Anderson, Stawell and Dryburgh streets, the map overleaf will show available detour pathways
  • Further detour information including maps for cyclists and pedestrians is available by visiting bigbuild.vic.gov.au/disruptions.

Noise

Construction activity, including noise and vibration is to be expected during these works. Depending on the type of works and if works are expected to create extra noise, the West Gate Tunnel Project team will be in contact with residents directly
