What we heard from Beaconsfield locals

Beaconsfield, thanks for your feedback!

We’re removing the dangerous level crossing at Station Street, Beaconsfield by building a road bridge over the rail line. The level crossing will be gone for good in 2025, contributing to a level crossing-free Pakenham Line.

In October 2022, we asked local residents how they move around and their visions and values for the area. Feedback received will be used to inform the project design.

The survey was open for 4 weeks, with 101 submissions and 121 comments received. Locals told us they value:

  • the village-like feel and atmosphere
  • the local fauna and flora of the area
  • pathways on and around the road bridge, and better connections between the station and local streets were also important to locals.

In the coming months, we will release images of the new road bridge and the community will be invited to provide further feedback on design elements including landscaping and finishes on the road bridge. This feedback will help shape final designs.

Early works will start mid 2023, with the level crossing gone for good in 2025.
