Accessing Union Station

We’re opening the new Union Station on Monday 22 May. This article provides helpful tips and information for getting around your new station.

What to expect

The new safe and accessible Union Station features:

  • 5 lifts, providing access from the station concourses to the platforms
  • new pedestrian and cycling connections
  • toilets, waiting areas and a Protective Services Office pod
  • improved lighting
  • CCTV cameras
  • a sustainable station precinct.

How to access Union Station

With 2 entrances, Union Station can be accessed by walking or cycling via:

  • the western entrance, located at Windsor Crescent and Montrose Street
  • the eastern entrance, located at Lorne Parade and the Mont Albert Road drop-off area.

Bike access

Bike hoops are available at the western entrance of the station, accessible via Windsor Crescent or Montrose Street.

A new Parkiteer will open in mid-2023.

Car access

If you drive and park at the station, there are 8 new accessible parking spaces near the station’s entrance on Windsor Crescent.

Passengers can continue to access the two free alternative weekday car parks in Box Hill, with new Union Station car parks to open in late 2023. Visit the PTV website for more information.

If you get a ride to the station, there is an accessible pick-up and drop-off area accessed via Mont Albert Road.

Bus access

If you catch the bus to the station, Union Station can be accessed via the existing bus stops on Mont Albert Road and Union Road.

Train services

Train services will resume from Monday 22 May.

From Sunday 28 May, commuters can expect an additional 3 services stopping at Union Station during the weekday morning and afternoon peaks. For more information, visit the PTV website.
