Beams, bridges and biscuits in Surrey Hills and Mont Albert

Back to Newsfeed

With less than a month until the brand-new Union Station opens on Monday 22 May, there’s no slowing down for our teams inside and outside the construction zone at Surrey Hills and Mont Albert.

Our teams have been working hard to finish building bridges over Mont Albert and Union roads and laying beams to form the foundation of the heritage open space in Mont Albert.

The station platforms are also coming together, as well as stair and roof canopy installations.

A big thank-you to locals for their patience in commuting during our works. In the past week, Mont Albert and Surrey Hills locals may have snapped up an extra sweet treat with locally-sourced biscuits and brownies while catching one of the bus replacement services in the area.

And don’t forget there’s still time to be rewarded for shopping local! Locals living in postcodes 3126, 3127 or 3129 can be rewarded with a $50 voucher through Stamp Me for spending $50 at their favourite shops in Mont Albert Village or Union Road, Surrey Hills
